For Fall Fans, New Season Means Cooler Temperatures, Colorful Foliage And Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream

In stores soon, the Turkey Hill flavor emerges as Limited Edition favorite

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (September 22, 2014) – Move over, Pumpkin Spiced Latte. There’s a new fall-flavored treat in town. Fans of Turkey Hill Dairy’s Limited Edition Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream have been counting down the days until its arrival, and that day has finally come.

The annual autumn flavor — described as pumpkin-flavored ice cream with a cinnamon graham cracker swirl — has been among the brand’s most popular Limited Edition options since its first appearance in the line-up in 2012.

“OMG, OMG, OMG, I can’t wait!” said Turkey Hill fan Norma, via a comment on the Dairy’s blog prior to the flavor’s 2014 debut. “I wish Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream were around all year long!”

The first containers of Turkey Hill’s Pumpkin Pie rolled off the line at the Lancaster County Dairy on Friday, September 19, and will begin shipping to stores nationwide in a few short days. To celebrate the occasion, Turkey Hill posted a photo of the first batch on its Facebook Page and promised a doorstep delivery of the flavor to one lucky fan, before it arrived in stores. The “first taste” offer attracted more than 2,500 comments in just six hours.

“When we first made Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream, we knew we had something special, but we never would have predicted that it would be this popular,” said Turkey Hill President John Cox. “We’ve heard stories from fans who stock up on 15 or 20 containers of Pumpkin Pie to get them through the year until it returns again.”

For fans who might be unable to find the flavor, Turkey Hill will award another shipment of Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream via a contest held on its blog, the Ice Cream Journal ( To enter, fans need only to leave a comment on any blog entry posted between September 22 and October 31. One commenter will be chosen at random to win a four-pack of the flavor, shipped to his or her home or office.
